The homesteader
Hi, I'm Achieng.
It started with one jar of milk kefir on a windowsill in Nairobi. That jar turned into a kitchen full of ferments, a garden out the back, and far more glass than any one person needs.
Everything in the shop, I grow or make myself, in small batches, the slow way. If a thing can be done by hand, that is how it gets done here.
Grown, not sourced
Most of what fills our jars comes from the garden out back or a neighbour down the road, picked the same week it ships.
Made in small batches
We ferment and pour by hand, a few dozen jars at a time, so someone actually tastes and checks every one.
Glass over plastic
Your order turns up in glass you can keep, wrapped in paper that goes straight onto the compost heap.
